a full-stack developer open to freelance and contract work.
I build amazing websites of all sizes.

My Recent Work
Vonage
My work for Vonage include the front-end maintenance and development of the online admin portal for their business customers. This included using JavaScript, Angular, TypeScript and NPM for the development of new features, improving existing features, bug fixes, refactoring, and testing. This was done as part of an Agile team with a mix of developers, designers, QA Testers, Project Managers, and Product Owners.
I also assited with on the company rebranding efforts which included a complete redesign of the Vonage public facing website. This effort required combining 4 websites from different lines of business into one site on the AEM (Adobe Experience Manger) CMS platform. This was a massive undertaking that took less than a year to complete and required learning new languages and systems including an in-depth understanding of accessibilty standards as defined by WCAG. It also included separating out the residential lines of business and migrating to AWS using EC2, S3, Lambda, Code Pipeline, CloudFormation, and other AWS services.
Prior to the rebranding I worked with the Vonage team to build the site using the Symphony PHP Framework and the Twig templating engine. On the front-end this was a lightning fast, feature rich, and responsive website using HTML, CSS, and a custom built blog that was AMP enabled. On the back-end, it was a highly scalable system utilizing a combination of common premade packages and a number of custom built components, from simple to complex, to meet the unique needs of the business.
In addition to the main marketing websites, I’ve also built and/or maintained a number of other sites and tools, both internal and external using a mix of different languages and platforms.
MyPlate
MyPlate is the current nutrition guide published by the USDA Center for Nutrition Policy and Promotion. This project included a redesign of their current website and development of a number of tools. These tools consisted of recipe pages with dynamically calculated nutritional information derived from the ingredient list and servings, and secure dashboard where users can rate recipes and create cookbooks of recipies found on the site. The site was built in Drupal using PHP, HTML, Javascript, Sass, and the U.S. Web Design System (USWDS), a design system for the federal government. This site was built using a common development environment with Docker.
National Mental Health Response
The National Mental Health Response (NMHR) is an initiative of the National Action Alliance for Suicide Prevention. This project was a redesign of their current NMHR website. I worked exclusivly on the development side which involved building out the pages and custom paragraphs (Drupal speak for components) in Drupal using PHP, HTML, Javascript, and Sass. The deveopment of this site utilized Docker to maintain a stable and identical development environment for all developers. This site was handed off to the business owners just 4 weeks after the final designs were recieved.
Garden State Pet Sitting
Garden State Pet Sitting is a growing business looking to establish their presence on the web. They exist in a highly saturated and competetive field where they needed to stand out. I created a site that was more visually compelling then their competitors while also focusing on highlighting why they're better than the competition. This was accomplished with modern designs and well thought out content. This, along with custom photography and videography, all work together to tell a story that drives visitors to booking appointments.
A custom WordPress template was built from the ground up with custom content and photography.
Helping Hand Home Improvement
Helping Hand Home Improvement was a new home improvement business in need of a website to showcase their work and attract new clients. The site was built using WordPress and a custom theme to meet their specific needs while also being designed to be fast and easy to navigate with a focus on the work they do and the quality of that work.
They have an enormous amount of competition in their service area which meant an intense focus on SEO to get them to rank higher in search results. This is being done through focused content creation including a large number of landing pages targeting specific services and areas.
OCCR
The Ocean Country Competition Riders (OCCR) had a website that was almost 20 years old when they came to me. They needed something more modern, functional, and appealing for both their current and prospective members. I designed the front-end using a css grid layout while keeping a logical content flow in mind. The old site was slow to load and difficult to navigate so it was important to improve the user experience.
The site was built using WordPress and a custom theme to meet their specific needs.
I’m currently integrating Nexmo. This work will include an opt-in notification system for member announcements and race day updates via voice and sms. Since this is a small organization that is not run from a central location this solution also allows for the use of an IVR with a single organization phone number that can route calls to the individuals without exposing their personal phone numbers and a voice menu for listening to messages from the club or answering FAQs before the need to route the call to a person.
Shifted Pixel
Shifted Pixel is photography website used to highlight photos in a unique and engaging way and share information through the use of a blog. The site was designed to make the imagery the focal point with a custom image gallery using animation designed to enhance the visual appeal of the site and better highlight the photos.
Full disclosure, I'm the photgrapher and this is my personal photgraphy site. This project was challenging because the client was very difficult to work with and kept changing his mind. It's one of the few oppotunities where I've had complete creative control over the the design and development of a site. Meaning I had the rare opportunity to try out different and unique design and development choices that probably aren't best practices for a real clients website. As challenging as it was, I think it turned out pretty good and the client is pleased as well.
This site was built with Node.js on the back-end using clean and modern HTML5 and CSS3 on the front-end to give a smooth and fast experience to the end user.
